It's that time again kiddies. I can see it already, I'm going to be checking playbill.com and backstagejobs.com multiple times daily to see what internships pop up. I'm getting the itch again. My apartment lease is up come April, and my car is payed off in May. After that I'm free! I've applied to 3 in the past 24 hours. One in New Hope, PA, which would be amazing. That is the absolute cutest town. It's about a half hour from my Aunt and Uncles house. It's almost like downtown Melbourne, except more unique shops. I really hope I get that one. One other one was in Jersey, and the last in Sarasota. They sound nice too, but I'd really prefer New Hope. Crossing my fingers!
I found some great things at the Cocoa flea market on Saturday. Seven Broadway records that were more on the rare side then say, Sound of Music and My Fair Lady. I got Peter Pan, Company, La Cage Aux Folles, the Public Theatre production of Hair, Three Penny Opera, Bye Bye Birdie, and Follies. I got them for a dollar a piece. Even though, when I added up all the price tags, it came to 40 dollars! The guy was super nice and said not a lot of people want Broadway albums, so he discounted them. I also found a pair of drama mask earrings, which I have been looking for forever. As well as three Liza Minnelli prints from when she did Cabaret.
I did well this weekend with having me time, or at least not relying on friends. I actually ended up spending most of the weekend with the family. Ashley came over Friday night, which had been planned for a while. We got pizza and watched movies. I could of lived without it. She was happy and excited and giggly during her movie. During mine she wouldn't stop moving, and was huffing and puffing the entire time. It was lame. I came close to telling her to just go home, but kept hoping the movie would spark her interest, since it's one of my favorites. It didn't. Saturday was spent at the Flea Market with mother and brother. Sunday I went out to lunch with Grams, and then took her shopping. And Monday was spent with Mom having lunch, used bookstoring, Sam's Clubbing, and laundrying. I even ended the night reading my new book in a nice hot bubble bath :)
I haven't talked to Sarah since Friday afternoon, and Greg just a bit on Sunday and a bit last night. He randomly texted me asking if I hated him. What the crap is that? I think he believed me when I told him sometimes. Whatever. I've done fine so far, not really missing them. So hopefully I can keep it up. I think it will make it easier in the long run anyway, if I do get an internship and move away.
I have a confession. I am in love with Adam Lamberts song "Whatata Want From Me" I'm ashamed to admit it, but for some reason it hits home. I actually just bought it on iTunes before I started writing this paragraph. Bad, bad Caitie. Shhhhh
good luck with your internship! i just starte mine this semester and i'm in love. be patient... sometimes it takes a while to find the perfect place. !?? that's crazy.
